Kathleen M. Watson, Senior Consultant – Kathleen Watson has significant experience in leading institutional advancement programs, built over a 25-year career in higher education, health care and arts and culture. She brings to clients hands-on experience in capital campaign planning and execution, major gift fundraising, prospect identification and cultivation, board and staff development and program design. She joined Schultz & Williams in 2005.

As Vice President for Development at the Kimmel Center, she built the first comprehensive development program for this new $275 million performing arts center. Under Kathy’s leadership, the Kimmel Center raised more than $35 million for capital programs, endowment and operations. From 1994 to 2002 she served as Vice President for Development at The Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia. During her tenure annual philanthropic support doubled, with $30 million in gifts and pledges raised in 2002. She led the $110 million Campaign for The Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia—at the time, the largest campaign ever conducted by a pediatric hospital. As a member of the senior management team of both organizations, she participated in strategic planning, leadership development and long-range financial planning. From 1981 to 1993 Kathy held a variety of development roles at Thomas Jefferson University, a major Philadelphia academic medical center. She began her development career as a prospect researcher at the University of Pennsylvania.

Kathy is a Phi Beta Kappa graduate of the University of Pennsylvania. She was designated a Certified Fund Raising Executive in 1985, and was named Fundraising Executive of the Year by the Greater Philadelphia Chapter of AFP in 1997. She is a frequent speaker on campaign planning, major gift fundraising, prospect identification and professional development.
