Interim Staffing : Utilize Professional Consultants to Fill Your Staffing Needs
By Susan Scauzzo, Consultant

Staff vacancies – whether by design or not – have a significant impact on fundraising programs. There is no good time for an interruption in major gift strategies or annual fund activity. With every contributed dollar harder to come by, staff vacancies can create vulnerability within even well-established development programs, and filling key staff positions may take many months, which can erode established relationships and result in lost income.

In response to this growing need, Schultz & Williams has provided interim staffing for a variety of organizations that have experienced staff vacancies as a result of terminations , resignations or both.

Working on site, our consultants can provide the following services to clients:

  • Establish and assume responsibility for high-priority activities, keeping program goals on target.
  • Maintain communication with key volunteers and donors so that cultivation/stewardship activity is not interrupted.
  • Supervise and maintain the professional development of staff members who lack a permanent manager.
  • Assist in the search for permanent staff, with an active and accurate knowledge of the position’s responsibilities and the organization’s staff dynamics.

Every Schultz & Williams consultant also has direct and immediate access to a full range of non-profit specialists on our staff. These additional resources can be brought in for project work as needed.
